How do I become a K-12 ASLTeacher?
Each state department of education has their own requirements which must be followed. There are a few ASL teacher training programs available - see list elsewhere. Usually courses related to ASL, linguistics, second language learning, teaching methods, ASL literature, etc. are desirable or required. Some states also recognize the ASLTA certification.
